"Tower of the Winds"

One interesting feature of the opening ceremony of Michael Grave's new wing for the Michael Carlos Museum of Art and Archaeology at Atlanta's Emory University was Harry Elson's sculpture for the official guest's dining table. The Tower of the Winds, probably a model for some larger version in the future, was inspired by the Athenian Temple of the Winds (first century B.C.). It consists of a glass sail connected by aerial wires to a metal frame that seems to soar upwards to catch the wind between the energy-generating tower and ground below.
